Next week, Albert Square experiences a seismic earthquake that may permanently alter EastEnders.
The Queen Vic bar, the Bridge Street Market, Square Gardens, and Kathy’s Cafe are all immediately brought to mind when one considers the BBC soap opera’s charmingly rendered depiction of East End London set on a backlot in Elstree, Hertfordshire.
All of that, though, could be about to change as a redevelopment plan appears to be taking over the neighborhood.

The last time such a significant modification was suggested was in 2017, when the Square was under danger from James Wilmott-Brown’s (William Boyde) firm Weyland&Co.
When Honey and Billy Mitchell (Emma Barton and Perry Fenwick) explain that the market is in danger, the floor falls from under Martin Fowler’s (James Bye) feet in later scenes.
Martin is devastated by this news because his family has operated the fruit and vegetable stand there for 103 years.
His uncle Pete Beale (played by Peter Dean) was the dealer in charge of the renowned pop-up store when the program debuted in 1985.

After seeing the news, the three decide to meet with the other market merchants at a bar to discuss the potential of the market being eliminated.
To exacerbate the situation, there is a chance that the Square Gardens may also vanish in the near future.
After getting in touch with the council and obtaining the genuinely terrible plans, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) is called in.

Later, when the gamblers discover that Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) is the contractor hired to do the work, a fight breaks out!
Is it possible to salvage the market?
Above all, how will Winston and Shrimpy be affected by this?
