The 18-year veteran of “EastEnders,” Jamie Borthwick, is “very pleased” that he has been able to “stay the course” on the show.

“Very pleased” that he was able to “stay the course” on “EastEnders,” Jamie Borthwick says.

The 30-year-old actor, who has been playing Jay Brown on the soap opera since he was just 12 years old, has “loved every minute” of his time there, although he occasionally marvels at his accomplishments while collaborating with legendary actors like June Brown and the late Dame Barbara Windsor.

“Now that I’m older, I’ve realized, ‘Wow, I’ve done all that,'” Jamie, who is now participating on “Strictly Come Dancing’ partner Michelle Tsiakkas, said on the Mirror’s “Invite Only” podcast. ‘Strictly’ is the same way. I ask myself, ‘Who is that person?’ while I see myself. It resembles an out-of-body encounter.

“Every minute of my time at ‘EastEnders’ has been fantastic. It’s because of the wonderful people there.

And ‘Strictly’ is no different. A job is made up of its people, not its activities.

Since the age of twelve, Jamie Borthwick has been a part of EastEnders.

That I’ve also stuck with it makes me extremely happy.

“You know, there was a lot of opportunity for them to lose me and there was opportunity for me to go elsewhere.”

Jamie’s hectic schedule, which includes filming “EastEnders” and training for “Strictly” for eight hours every day, has prompted him to postpone his upcoming house relocation.

“There are really exciting times ahead,” he remarked.

“I haven’t had time to do anything, not even get a haircut, so the relocation is currently on hold.

“I’ve got my work cut out to furnish a whole house.”

At Saturday’s (09.11.24) performance, Jamie and Michelle danced an Argentine tango to the Arctic Monkeys’ “Do I Wanna Know?” He believed that this would be enough to keep him in the competition for another week, allowing him to dance at Blackpool Tower.

“Blackpool is the benchmark I set for myself when I agreed to perform in the show,” he stated.

“I’ve just got to try and deliver now.”
