Drama is never lacking in Emmerdale, and fans are certain they know who the father is in case the soap opera’s plot surprise involves a new baby for one of the village’s residents.
Fans of Emmerdale are giddy with conjecture around Laurel Thomas’s potential pregnancy plot surprise.
Since taking on the adored role in 2002, Charlotte Bellamy has experienced a good number of emotionally charged plots in the program. Laurel’s past several months have been especially turbulent.
She had, in fact, experienced a wild few months in the Dales, overcoming a heart attack and witnessing her marriage to Jai Sharma (played by Chris Bisson) come to an end.
Laurel has had enough of Jai’s lies and wanted a divorce, but Jai is resisting to make things tough. But it appears that this week, Laurel is making quick progress.
Together with vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), Laurel has been busy planning the local harvest festival. Despite a few setbacks, mostly brought on by his mother Claudette (Flo Wilson), Laurel persisted with her joyful ideas, leaving Charles less than delighted, according to Leeds Live.
However, their argument at Charles’ house suddenly grew heated. The couple startled watchers throughout the country as they swiftly escalated their passionate kiss to the bedroom.
Fans are inconsolable; one even tweeted, “Laurel and Charles noooo,” in reference to the controversy. One person said, “I will never be able to shake that vision from my mind,” while another said, “With Laurel and Charles?!.”
On social media, a fan posted, “Charles and Laurel. There was that one instance where I wished his mother had seen them so we wouldn’t have to see them clutching each other.”
However, some other fans of Emmerdale are speculating that the program might be preparing Laurel for a shocking pregnancy announcement. In an Emmerdale Facebook page, a fan posted their speculation, saying, “Laurel will probably be pregnant in a couple months.”
“Yes, I can see it too,” said a second person.
“I’m calling it now, Laurel ends up pregnant and she doesn’t know who the dad is,” said another, adding their two cents. Most likely Charles’.”
