Emily Weir and Tim Franklin, her former co-star from Home and Away, have reunited for a set of red carpet photos.

Weir, whose character Mackenzie Booth is still on the soap opera, posted the adorable photos of herself with Franklin, who portrayed Colby Thorne from 2018 to 2020, on Instagram.

The two were present to commemorate the debut of The Last King of the Cross, a Paramount+ miniseries in which Franklin plays a police officer.

The show’s director Ian Watson joins the pair in the final photo as they pose side by side while Weir beams up at her former co-star.

Franklin, who played the police officer Colby, also posted the images to Instagram, joking that he was playing the same part again.

“The Last King of the Cross – check it out on Paramount + I play a cop again #typecast,” he said as the caption for his photo.

Weir and Franklin’s characters, Mackenzie and Colby, had an intermittent connection while they were together on Home and Away, and fans were quick to say that they wanted to see the two together again.

One ecstatic admirer remarked, “We need Colby back!!!…..Mac and Colby were great together!!!!”

Weir talked candidly about her battles with alcoholism last year, telling Who Magazine that she drank to help her deal with her anxiety.

“I was self-medicating with red wine, but I managed to hide it all really well,” she said.

Like most people in their early 20s, I chose to ignore the problem because I wanted to travel and have fun with my friends. At that time, I began drinking more since it helped me fight my anxiety and all of my anxieties vanished. But I started to depend on alcohol.
