Ada Nicodemou of Home and Away has talked candidly about her “secret health battle,” which left her with no feeling in her left foot. In her most recent Stellar Magazine column, the 47-year-old actress, who has been a cast member of the well-known soap opera since 2000, disclosed that she had a herniated disc in her spine a year and a half ago.
Ada clarified that the incident occurred when she sneezed while getting dressed in the morning while she was getting ready to work out. She claimed that having to have surgery and go through a drawn-out recuperation procedure “forced [her] to slow down” in life.

“I realized that I couldn’t exert myself as much as I once could. It served as a bodily and emotional wake-up call, she wrote. “I realized that exercise isn’t about extremes, and I began to think about it differently.”
After her accident, the mother of two said, she went to a photo shoot and was “uncomfortable and unhappy” with her appearance. The incident did, however, assist her in realizing that “health is more than appearance.”
“I now prioritize my well-being, which includes Pilates, walks, light weight training, and a more balanced approach,” she stated. “I am listening to my body’s needs and treating myself with kindness instead of striving for a flawless body.”
The mother of two also mentioned that she felt “uncomfortable and unhappy” with her appearance after doing a photo session after her accident. But the encounter made her realize that “health is more than appearance.”
“I now concentrate on what makes me feel good: light weight training, walks, Pilates, and a more balanced approach,” she stated. “I’m being kind to myself and paying attention to what my body needs instead of striving for a perfect body.”
Ada’s announcement follows co-star Lynne McGranger’s August announcement that she had surgery to treat a health issue that was seriously impairing her overall wellbeing.
After removing her “toxic overactive thyroid,” the 71-year-old startled her fans by tweeting a picture of herself in the hospital.
It took a while for it to happen. We couldn’t get along, and to be honest, I was tired,” she wrote. “I want to express my gratitude to the excellent staff at Mater Hospital North Sydney for making this significant life transition more simpler than it otherwise may have been.
I’m recovering nicely, and I haven’t missed that unclean thyroid at all thus far! Watch this space for scar spam.
