For former Jordanian Briana Henry of GENERAL HOSPITAL, March 10 was a very important night because it was the night her husband, Kris Bowers, won the 99th Academy Awards for Best Documentary Short Film!
Henry wrote on Instagram, “I’m so proud of you, my best friend.” “You are an incredibly giving spouse, father, creative partner, and artist. I wouldn’t want to create art, have children, or lead a meaningful life with anyone else.
In addition, the GH alumnus served as executive producer for Bowers and Ben Proudfoot’s film The Last Repair Shop. It recounts the tale of four artisans who work for free at a Los Angeles warehouse, mending musical instruments for public school kids. It also features some of the pupils who have benefited from their magnanimity.
Henry said, “What a privilege it has been to be a part of this movie that sends a huge, heartfelt, sincere love spell across the globe.” “That highlights the idea that, if you work with love, intention, and all of your heart, you might be affecting a life that you never would have thought needed to be touched.”

When the cast of The Last Repair Shop showed up to the Academy Awards, they were beaming!

Henry encouraged viewers to “go to thelastrepairshop.com and help us continue to expand LAUSD’s music education programming and opportunities for kids.”

“Bask in the joy and beauty of having been a servant to a story that was profound, important, and impactful,” she said to her husband. “Bravo, my love.”

One of the pupils from the movie, Porché Brinker, went on stage with Bowers and Proudfoot to claim their trophy.

Henry described the movie produced by Proudfoot and Bowers “a film that reminded us of the importance of giving children the opportunity to funnel their pain, love and joy into an instrument that they didn’t have to pay for, could change the trajectory of their life, or at the very least make them feel a little less alone in the world.”

She exclaimed, “I will always be your biggest fan because I love you.”

Bowers and Henry went to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party after winning at the Oscars.

Who at the Oscar afterparty was having a blast? Obviously not Henry! 😉

Coda, the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, was also invited to join in on their triumph celebration. “To think we weren’t even parents when this project came into our lives is a crazy realization,” Henry said.
