After being sexually assaulted by Craig Reed and coerced into silence by his despicable actions, Lydia Dingle from Emmerdale has been having difficulty over the past few months.
Fans of the ITV soap opera Emmerdale believe they have “worked out” who will play a crucial role in Craig Reed’s (Ben Addis) exposure after Lydia Dingle confronted her rapist.
Lydia was heartbreakingly raped by her boss and longtime friend Craig while she was at work in recent scenes, keeping her ordeal a secret from her family.
Craig and Lydia shared the same children’s home where Lydia became pregnant at the age of 15 and ultimately gave birth on her own, tragically losing the baby Toby.
However, Lydia eventually broke down and confided in Kim Tate (Claire King), who urged her to tell her family about the incident and confront Craig. Initially, Lydia chose to keep the crime a secret from everyone.
Since the rape, Craig has denied it and said that it was consensual. He has even started to visit her home and harass her to prevent her from telling anyone what he did to her.

He kept showing up at their house, which led to rumors that Lydia and Craig were having an affair, which compelled Lydia to tell Sam Dingle (James Hooton) what had happened.
In courageous scenes, Lydia opened up about the trauma of being raped by Craig, and the Dingles came to her defense.
Sam, Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), and Lydia soon joined Sam in confronting Craig in his office after Sam stormed there in rage over what Craig had done to his wife.
Lydia became angry and confronted Craig before calling the police. Craig insisted that Lydia’s rape was “consensual” while continuing to deny it.
Some viewers were diverted during these scenes, though, when they noticed that Craig’s receptionist was staring at him suspiciously.

The receptionist’s tears as she watched him being taken away by the police after he was arrested caused viewers to take to Twitter.
“That receptionist woman knows something,” one fan wrote. She’s had far too many scenes and lines to just be a background player.
She will be Craig’s downfall, a second user added. He will attempt to avoid raping Lydia by talking, but she will also report him.
“The front desk agent at Craig knows something. #Emmerdale,” a third person wrote.
A fourth account added, “I think the receptionist will come up with some evidence or a witness statement in support of Lydia, at some point #emmerdale.” (sic)
