In a startling turn of events, Emmerdale has revealed Piper the Dog is still alive.

Earlier this week, the soap opera seems to have killed off Belle King’s cherished pet as part of Tom King’s scheme to exact revenge on his divorced wife.

It seemed as though Tom had run Piper over on the road and then feigned to Belle that he had discovered the dog hurt. Belle went to the police after realizing that Tom had been lying.

Tom sneaked into Dale Head on Wednesday, August 21, when Belle was outside attempting to break into her computer. The fact that Belle had changed her password irritated him.

After gaining access to the laptop, he encountered an additional obstacle since Belle had erased her browsing history on the internet. After putting some spyware on the gadget, he hurried out the moment Belle got home.

While leaving, Tom was able to knock a magazine into the floor. A few seconds later, Lydia and Belle came inside, but not before Lydia saw the magazine was missing and moved it back without Belle noticing.

Later, in a foreboding scenario, Belle searched for “How to tell a family you’re a victim of domestic abuse” on her laptop while Tom was monitoring her remotely.

A worried Tom called his friend Ollie, a lawyer, to ask for legal counsel in the event that Belle chose to make public her accusations of domestic abuse.

In the meantime, Belle collaborated with the police to obtain information on Tom’s possible history of domestic abuse utilizing Clare’s Law. The dog’s collar was later placed on Piper’s grave during Belle’s private funeral.

The stunning conclusion of the episode showed that Piper the dog wasn’t actually dead, but rather that Tom had staged her death in order to play with Belle’s emotions.

Watchers witnessed Tom arrange for an unsuspecting couple to adopt the puppy by meeting them outside of a terraced house. Will Belle discover Tom’s intentions?

The soap opera had previously made an effort to convince viewers that Piper’s animal actor was entirely safe during the terrifying sequences.
