Actress Jennifer Leak, who was 76 years old, passed away. Her ex-husband Tim Matheson posted the depressing news on Facebook. He commented, “I share the news of Jennifer Leak’s passing with a heavy heart.” She was not just my first wife, whom I adored, but also my film sister in Yours, Mine, and Ours. Jennifer was a beautiful, strong, and extraordinarily gifted woman. My sincere sympathies are sent to her 47-year spouse, James D’Auria, as well as their large circle of friends.
According to the East Hampton Star, Leak fought progressive supranuclear palsy, a rare neurological condition, for the previous seven years before passing away on March 18 at home in Jupiter, Florida.

According to Leak’s spouse D’Auria, soap operas “became her favorite medium and what she loved performing in most” after she made her daytime debut as Elaine Bancroft in the NBC sudser BRIGHT PROMISE. Her television credits include an appearance on RYAN’S HOPE, ANOTHER WORLD, GUIDING LIGHT, ONE LIFE TO LIVE, and LOVING, in addition to three years as Gwen Sherman on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS.
Leak is survived by her brother Kenneth Leak and her husband. We are thinking of them during this trying time.
