Coronation Street Star Luca Toolan Calls For Mason Radcliffe's Dangerous Family To Arrive

Star of Coronation Street Luca Toolan has demanded that the family of his character come on the cobbles.

The actor, who plays Mason Radcliffe, is well-known for being a school bully who frequently picks on Maria Connor’s son Liam. In a recent instance, Mason even cut Liam with a knife.

Mason’s family has been hinted to be a dangerous family in the community; Liam’s stepfather Gary Windass has issued a warning not to associate with the Radcliffes.

In an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, Luca discussed the potential implications for Mason’s character of having his extended family appear on the show.

Naturally, of course! Having a family would be wonderful, he remarks. “Although they’d probably all be horrible because they’ve created this monster that is Mason.”

“It would be great because it would inevitably mean I’d get to explore a different side of Mason and the fans would get to see that,” he says.

“It would be nice to see why Mason is the way he is and make him a three-dimensional human being, rather than a horrible idiot.”

Luca continues, “It could also mean a longer stay on the soap opera when his family members are introduced.”

“Also I’d get to stay longer in Corrie, which would be amazing,” he added. “Hopefully we will.”

The bullying plot will “probably run for at least a few more months,” if not longer, according to Luca’s previous confirmation.

“The longer the story, the better, because it just means you get more to play with.”
