Coronation Street fans in uproar as Peter Barlow’s future ‘confirmed’

Fans of Coronation Street are in shock as Peter Barlow deals with the repercussions of his actions from Monday night.
Fans of Coronation Street haven’t been overly impressed as they try to predict how Chris Gascoyne’s Peter Barlow will leave the cobbles.

Last week, viewers witnessed the end of Stephen Reid’s (Todd Boyce) terror reign.

The killer was cornered by the Weatherfield residents as he made one final desperate attempt to flee as his lies, schemes, and crimes came to light.

Before Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) saved his life, viewers feared Jenny Connor’s (Sally Ann Matthews) life was in danger as he held her hostage.

The audience watched in shock as the murderer ran down Stephen with his car before being taken away.

Despite the fact that Peter saved Jenny’s life, Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls), Stephen’s mother, is upset because her son is now dead and thinks Peter planned to kill him.

When he was arrested for the murder of Stephen at the end of the episode, fans were outraged and many expressed their concern on Twitter for Peter’s future.

People think this is the beginning of the soap star’s exit because his departure from the show is imminent.

“Poor Peter – I absolutely hate this!” added @NoniFlax101.

@BernieTucker66 tweeted: “Have they forgotten Stephen killed 3 people, they’re making him look like an angel. So Peter will go down for killing a murderer.”

@niallhoran said: “They can’t seriously send Peter to jail for killing the serial killer.”

@markscottsmith shared: “Free Peter Barlow!”

However, @homebrew19721 believes he’ll make a quick escape as they suggested: “I’m calling it. Peter will do a runner abroad like Stacey Slater did on #eastenders after she killed Archie Mitchell.”

Chris, a soap actor, teased that Peter’s choice to run Stephen over would have consequences when discussing the turn of events.

This is where Stephen’s story ends and mine begins, he declared.Peter is a person who struggles greatly with himself. The fact that he killed someone doesn’t matter in the end; it happened nonetheless.

“I can’t even begin to imagine how that must feel. Could you ever unwind or sleep? He actually says, “What kind of person does that? I have permanently removed another human being from this world.” What do I become as a result? He’s terrified, too.
