As she was ready to head to Boston to further her studies, Summer said farewell to Weatherfield on Coronation Street this evening, Wednesday, March 27.
Her three fathers, Paul, Todd, and Billy, gave her a tearful farewell before she got into a taxi.
Fans of the soap opera have taken to social media following Summer’s departure to express their happiness at these scenes.
Coronation Street: Summer left Weatherfield
Fans of Corrie will recall that Summer was first offered the opportunity to study abroad but declined it.
Given that Paul’s MND was only growing worse and that she had no idea how long he would have left, she felt that she ought to stay with him.
Paul, on the other hand, urged Summer to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity after learning about it.
Summer then decided to seize the chance and found a place to study for a semester in Boston.
It was time for Summer to leave the Street, so last night she packed her luggage and bid her loved ones farewell.
Then, with tears in her eyes, she waved goodbye to Paul, Billy, and Todd as she got into a cab.
Coronation Street fans rejoice as Summer leaves the Street
Summer was never really liked by Corrie viewers, however many are happy that she is no longer on the Street. Some people have even gone so far as to want for her to never return.
“We’re not lucky enough to lose Summer for good are we?” a supporter asked.
“Awww, Summer is heading off to study in America for a term,” said an other person. Hopefully, they will give it another year or more.
“Summer leaving is a win for this episode,” said a third viewer. It’s a shame that it’s merely transitory.

Although Summer left to pursue her studies in Boston, Corrie fans might not be overly thrilled to hear that she will be returning.
She is anticipated to return to the Street shortly because Digital Spy reports that her departure is merely temporary and should only last a few months. Will she, however, return in time to bid Paul farewell for the last time?
