General Hospital Spoilers: Agent Cates Recruits Spinelli For Dangerous Mission, Return Of The Jackal!

Spoilers for General Hospital hint that Steve Burton’s character, Jason Morgan, has been an undercover agent for the FBI and John Cates for more than two years.

Cates used a specific task as a form of blackmail on Jason. Jason’s mission was to become an insider and advance through the Pikeman Group.

Jason’s final assignment was to assist in Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Bernard) killing. Jason performed exactly what Cates had directed, making sure the sniper missed.

General Hospital Spoilers – Jason Morgan tried to save Dante Falconeri

As the assassination attempt was foiled, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zomprogna) had a glimpse of Jason and his partner. When he reached the pair, the other shooter shot him.

As Dante pleaded for assistance, Jason fired shots at the shooter and attempted to save his life. Jason eventually brought himself up, but not before making his getaway while Dante’s life was in jeopardy.

Thanks to his best buddy Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), Jason’s cover may be uncovered. When Sonny instructed Spinelli to set up surveillance the night of the attempted assassination, he had no notion that Jason was still alive.

GH Spoilers – Damian Spinelli was caught by Agent Cates

Cates quickly located Spinelli when he left his fingerprints on the camera, and he was ultimately taken into custody for concealing evidence.

Spinelli was eventually allowed by Cates, but charges may still be pending. Jason could have been at the scene of Sonny’s attempted murder because of Spinelli.

Furthermore, Cates may now have influence on both Jason and Spinelli. Jason may be able to defeat Pikeman more directly even though it is unlikely that he will be able to go back to him with the knowledge he has gained.
