She shared a sweet message to the Shona Platt star on her birthday

As her character’s disappearance plotline unfolds, Coronation Street star Cait Fitton seems to have hinted at a permanent departure from the cobbles, with Roy Cropper currently under investigation for her alleged murder.

The actress debuted in Weatherfield in 2022, playing the romantic interest of Max Turner while he was being trained by her father’s gang, which was headed by racist eco-warrior Griff Reynolds. However, Lauren returned to the streets last summer and was attempting to start over after her dad’s imprisonment.

Having said that, Lauren hasn’t been spotted on the cobblestones for weeks since she appeared to leave the street suddenly after telling Roy that she was leaving after he fired her from the cafe. As a result, he was the last person to see her in relation to the missing person case before it turned into a murder investigation.

A’missing’ poster featuring a description and the time of Lauren’s last sighting in Weatherfield was shared by Corrie last week.

Following the poster’s release, Cait posted an image of it to Instagram with the simple caption, “Last seen 23rd February‼️‼️ @coronationstreet.” Fans immediately responded, expressing their desire for Cait to reprise her Lauren role.

However, Cait just revealed in a heartfelt birthday letter to co-star Julia Goulding that she’s still not back filming on the cobbles. The Roys Rolls set star posted a picture of the couple to her Instagram Story, where they were grinning and wearing coats with the Corrie logo.

Cait commented on the photo, saying, “Happy birthday to this beautiful lady.” After that, she said, “I miss and love you dearly.” After reposting the image with a heart-shaped emoji around it, Julia—who portrays Shona Platt on Corrie—posted more quotes from her co-stars.

Among them was one from Jenny Connor actor Sally Ann Matthews, who wrote, “Happy birthday to this absolute Queen,” beside a picture of Julia striking a dramatic pose with a bag. “I love you,” wrote Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah Habeeb, in addition to a selfie of the two with Jane Danson, who is well-known for portraying Weatherfield’s Leanne Battersby, and the words “Happy birthday to our honorary Battersby.”
