Colson Smith, a celebrity Big Brother finalist, has announced that he will remain on Coronation Street.
The 25-year-old began appearing in the soap opera at the age of 12. He recently traded in his cobbles for the ultimate sociological experiment, living in the Big Brother house during the day.
Colson won over fans right on, finishing in a solid third place and avoiding elimination until the very last day of the competition. David Potts, the champion, and Nikita Kuzmin, the runner-up, defeated him.
Colson has stated that he doesn’t need to take a break before going back to work, contrary to what many soap opera fans may have assumed. The actor of Craig Tinker has returned fully to Weatherfield, claiming that he had a fresh screenplay in hand almost immediately after leaving the Big Brother house.
“Literally straight out the house, slept in London, had the wrap party, into a car, script straight in front of me, ready to get back on the beat,” he said to Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid of Good Morning Britain.
But I just have one line for today. I can’t really complain today, you know. ‘How old are you?’ is the question. It has also taken me the entire weekend.”

“[My Corrie co-stars have] been so supportive, and I’m so lucky to have such a great group of people here,” the actor continued. I can’t wait to see everyone in the green room again today to hear their opinions, learn what they liked about the presentation, and tell them about my experiences living there.”
