The amount of time that goes by in an instant is astounding. Austin Recht, the son of Tracey E. Bregman of The Young and the Restless, played Dylan, Lauren’s baby boy, and we could almost swear it was yesterday. Despite the tragic death of the toddler on the show, Austin has moved on from the spotlight to become a self-assured young man who is paving his own way in the previous 33 years.
Greetings on his birthday “to one of my favorite people on earth, my first born, my best friend, my rock,” Bregman wrote to him on Instagram the previous year. I am always grateful to you for being such an amazing person. I appreciate every moment of my life. I adore how eager you are to learn and comprehend. I enjoy our daily downloads and I enjoy hearing your suggestions. Being so close to you and being your mother has been one of life’s greatest blessings. I am so happy for all of your successes and for what is yet to come because you are a beacon of bright light in this world.
We thought we would celebrate Austin’s birthday by gathering a few photos that Bregman has graciously allowed us to publish and pay tribute to the young man who we still remember as the little boy cradled in Lauren’s arms.
A Boy and His Pup
Not only was this early picture of Austin and “his puppy, Stella” incredibly cute, but it also set the stage for many more wonderful moments to come.
Hop In!
Austin obtained his license ahead of schedule, so he felt compelled to brag to his buddies and extend an invitation to ride. And Stella was fortunate enough to be among the first to benefit from it!
Too Cool for School
The 1990s were a crazy era marked by plenty of denim, backwards caps, and loose clothing! And it was obvious that Austin and his younger brother Landon were comfortable!
Old Friends & New
Bregman posted a wonderful old photo of her boys having fun outside with Beth Maitland’s cute little girl, Emelia. Clearly, the actresses’ friendship was never affected by their feud between Lauren and Traci!
‘Twas the Night Before…
A few years ago, Bregman threw back to Austin’s “birthday eve” by blowing out a single sweet cake as her “sweet baby.” How unique was his birthday? Hey, it appears that Batman made an appearance!
Summer Love
Before “he heads out to go back to college,” Bregman took this picture with her son, and it was obvious that his dog was always close to his heart. However, it does help that he was curled up close to it.
If He Fits…
.. He takes a seat! “Are you still a lap dog?” Bregman inquired in a recent puppy photo. The response is unambiguously affirmative! We also don’t believe Austin had any issues with this at all.
Which Came First?
The coop or the chickens? Hold on, that doesn’t seem right. Well, anything! In any case, this photo of her child getting his hands filthy seems like a whole lot of fun! “True men construct chicken coops,” mom exclaimed, beaming.
Horsin’ Around
Austin is a skilled rider who has a great deal of regard for his equine companions in addition to being a dog lover. Bregman wrote, “My two tired and cold boys,” as the caption for the unexpectedly moving picture.
Graduation Day
That proud mother was present as her baby child ended his college career, you best believe. Bregman said, “Yes, it did happen.” Congratulations, sweetie!
Double Dates
Her boys would be the ideal people to go with Bregman to the Animal Museum Awards to honor her. The devoted mother wrote, “Thank you, Austin and Landon, for making my night complete.”
Mom Was Right!
Although the mug says it all, Bregman had some advice for her oldest child, who had recently moved out on his own. She wrote, “I adore this boy so much.” “I’m incredibly proud of what he’s accomplished and who he is. I’m very happy that you enjoy the mug I bought you for your new home. Family: Together, we have everything, even though we may not have it all together.”
Blended Family
Austin wasn’t leaving his mother behind just because he moved out. Even so, he managed to squeeze in a quick “early bird dinner” with her and her on-screen spouse, Christian Jules LeBlanc (Michael).
Spitting Image
Bregman wrote about Austin and her own father, Grandpa Buddy, saying, “This blows my mind.” “My dad and Austin have the exact same jawline; I wish he was more direct.”
Family Movie Night
Actress Suzanne Lloyd, who is Bregman’s mother, went to see Snatched with her and the boys. The actress added, “Amazing day with my mom and my boys.”
A Man and His Pup
In a heartfelt post, Bregman wished her “first baby” a happy 30th birthday. “I have cherished every moment of being your mother,” she wrote. “You are such an excellent man—a wonderful business partner, our beautiful Antonia’s lover, your brother to your incredible siblings, a rock-solid grandpa, my best friend, and my amazing son. I hope you have everything you need to be well and happy this year.
Best Friends
This past National Sons Day, Bregman honored both of her boys with a tribute. “My entire heart and everything is my sons,” she said. “I will always and forever love you, to the moon and back!”
The Next Chapter
Austin proposed to Antonia Burchman on the beach in a picture-perfect moment. Alternatively, Bregman said, “Best day ever!!”
A Mother’s Joy
Bregman had the opportunity to express her love for Austin and Landon on Mother’s Day, saying, “Thank you to my mom for making me your daughter and for making me a mom, step-mom, mother in law to be, and Gigi.” To everyone of you, thank you for enlightening me about the depths of love and demonstrating the potential size of my heart.
