In upcoming scenes, David Metcalfe of Emmerdale will experience heartbreak as his son Jacob Gallagher is unable to stay away from his ex-girlfriend Victoria Sugden.
When David Metcalfe’s son decides to get involved with his ex-girlfriend Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins), Emmerdale’s David Metcalfe (played by Matthew Wolfenden), he is setting himself up for the ultimate betrayal.
Fans of the ITV soap opera have watched over the past few weeks as Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren-Plant) revealed his feelings for Victoria, whom he once viewed as a stepmother figure.
Even though they have managed to stay apart, it appears that they will succumb to temptation in upcoming scenes.
According to official spoilers, David will unintentionally agree to a second date with a woman named Abby whom he met on a dating app the following week as he tries to move on from Victoria.
He turns to his son for assistance and requests that Jacob provide justifications for his absence from the date.
Jacob offers to go out for a drink with Abby out of sympathy for her as Victoria looks on in envious.
When Abby departs, Jacob and Victoria’s chemistry is undeniable, and it doesn’t take them long to lock lips passionately.
She jerkily pulls away from Jacob and departs after quickly realizing they shouldn’t be crossing that line.
Jacob, meanwhile, is overjoyed to realize that his feelings are being clearly shared.
Later, David misinterprets Victoria’s words of consolation and believes there is still some sort of connection between them.
When Victoria and Jacob cross paths again, she finds it difficult to let him go and they end up kissing once more, which sparks further interaction.
The next day, despite Pollard’s (Chris Chittell) efforts to convince David to move on, it is obvious that he is still fixated on Victoria.
He sets out to see her, determined to make things work between them, not realizing Jacob had spent the night.
David shows up unexpectedly, shocking both Victoria and Jacob as she manages to awkwardly get rid of him.
Later, when Jacob speaks to David, he is relieved to learn that he has realized their relationship with Victoria is over.
It becomes apparent, however, that this is not the case once he departs because his feelings for Victoria are still there.
As things between Jacob and Victoria begin to take a serious turn, his mother Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) begins to develop doubts about his secret relationship; this isn’t going to go well.
