Aaron Dingle’s return to the village after a year hasn’t been well received by Emmerdale viewers.
Following Aaron Dingle’s (Danny Miller’s) unexpected return to the ITV soap, viewers of Emmerdale have all been asking the same question.
In Monday’s episode, viewers saw Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), who had a strained relationship with his mother Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), attempt to speak with his former stepson.
However, when Aaron brought up Paddy’s lifetime of mental health issues, the conversation took a nasty turn.
Even though they’ve always gotten along well, Aaron scolded him for abandoning his suicide plan and called him pathetic.
Emmerdale viewers have been complaining that Aaron has changed and are wondering what has happened to the old Aaron after he cruelly told Paddy that everyone would be better off without him.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one social media user penned: @AllThatJazz_i said: “Aaron really is vile.”
@KellyBlackx fumed: “Wow Aaron that was below the belt!! Paddy has done so much for you!!”
@erinz added: “Aaron speaking to Paddy like that breaks my heart.”
@Mel_Navan tweeted: “Errrhm #Emmerdale, what have you done to Aaron?! No likey.”

Did they bring Aaron back purely to undo so many years of character development in only a few short scenes, as @ifeelflames questioned?(sic)
“How rude is Aaron #Emmerdale have to say, I am NOT liking the Aaron he has come back as,” raged @lisa95644941.
Following the passing of his sister Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele), Aaron recently made his way back to the soap opera after leaving the community the previous year.
Aaron’s mother Chas wasn’t there for him as he struggled to deal with the loss of his sister because she was too preoccupied having an affair with businessman Al Chapman (Michael Wildman).
Aaron decided to start a new life in Italy after disowning his mother for cheating on Paddy Kirk (Dominic) and deciding to leave.

However, it turned out that his life abroad had not been without incident as viewers discovered that he had stolen £300,000 from the mafia.
His uncles Cain and Caleb were forced to bring him back to the Dales because his life was in danger.
Although Danny Miller, who plays Aaron, hinted that his character and his on-screen mother will face drama in the future, it is clear that Aaron and his family are still at odds.
He told The Mirror: “He is full of a lot of anger after discovering Chas was having an affair with Al last year and it’s safe to say it’s going to be a rollercoaster of a journey for them both.
“I don’t think she quite understands just how toxic he is and the hatred he has got for her!”
