The Home and Away store has formally closed for the year. Following a major cliffhanger in the 2024 season finale episode, Australian broadcaster Channel 7 followed likewise this week, and the UK’s Channel 5 took its yearly transmission hiatus earlier this month.
Thankfully, we already know what to anticipate in 2025 because of a few spoilers that have been made public in recent months.
This is a brief overview of the tales that have been confirmed thus far.
1. Dean and Ziggy return

In 2025, Patrick O’Connor and Sophie Dillman return to their roles as Dean Thompson and Ziggy Astoni, bringing back one of the most beloved couples on Home and Away.
Patrick and Sophie came back as guests in October to shoot a few extra scenes in the beautiful North Queensland Whitsunday Region.
The sequences were described as “a top-secret storyline that will play out at a yet-to-be-announced date in 2025” in a press release from Home and Away that was kept under wraps.
“It feels so good to be home!” said Sophie.
Patrick continued: “I can’t wait for the action, and for fans to see this storyline play out.”
2. The River Boys return

In 2025, the unruly group of tattooed surfers who never seem to leave our screens will also return.
In a recent press interview to herald Dean and Ziggy’s return, Patrick O’Connor hinted at the River Boys’ involvement in the plot.
There is some River Boy action and some road excursions with them, he told the Australian publication The Daily Telegraph.
“I think it’ll be good to see where Dean is now, where they’re at now with their babies living away in Queensland, is all I’ll say.”
Since the majority of the gang that Cash Newman recently clashed with were River Boys, it is believed that we will once more be introduced to a fresh bunch of River Boys.
3. Cash’s big cliffhanger resolved

In Australia, the year-ending episode of Home and Away concluded with Cash holding blood in his hands. He had engaged in a furious argument with Tim Russell, his new romantic rival, which seemed to have gone horribly wrong.
What had transpired was unclear, but Justin was terrified to see Cash standing suspiciously over Tim’s apparently lifeless body.
Tim’s delusional client Nerida had also been trying to get him, but Cash seemed to be the most likely suspect for hurting the problematic therapist.
As Cash is suspected and subjected to intense scrutiny by a new detective who is in charge of the case, Home and Away has stated that the 2025 return episode in Australia will continue precisely where the finale left off.
4. Harper’s surgery

The other huge talking point from Australia’s finale show occurred when Harper opted to have surgery to remove a cyst that had been identified on the lung of her unborn baby.
Levi was on duty to do the surgery, but he was anxious about the difficult professional task and the potential life-altering consequences for Harper and Tane in the event that the surgery went poorly.
It appears that this particular cliffhanger will have a happy ending because loyal fans who travel to Palm Beach, where Home and Away is filmed, have reported sighting cast mates Jessica Redmayne (Harper) and Ethan Browne (Tane) filming with a newborn in recent months.
5. Heartbreak for Dana

Xander Delaney departed the Bay to accept a six-week work experience stint at a hotel in Melbourne before to Home and Away’s year-end in Australia. As he sought to expand his professional horizons, Xander included this in his ongoing management course.
It’s no secret that Luke Van Os, who portrayed the character, hasn’t been spotted filming for Home and Away in a number of months, despite Xander’s insistence that he would return after the placement was done.
In more recent Australian episodes, Dana was let down when Xander said he was too busy to meet him in Melbourne, canceling their arrangements. She was afraid that Xander was already losing interest in her as a result of this.
Would Dana be able to handle the impending breakup?
6. Rose says her goodbyes

A few weeks ago, Kirsty Marillier, who played Rose Delaney, filmed her last scenes for Home and Away. However, because the show has been filming its episodes ahead of time, she will continue to appear on TV for several months into 2025.
Since Kirsty had already signed up for theater projects in 2025, some highly perceptive admirers were not really surprised to learn about Rose’s departure.
Kirby and Bree are anticipated to wave Rose goodbye in her farewell scenes as she leaves the Bay in search of a new beginning.
7. Irene Roberts returns

After securing a part in a touring theater production, Home and Away star Lynne McGranger took a lengthy hiatus from filming this year. However, she returned to her day job in September.
As a result, viewers can anticipate seeing Irene Roberts again in the first half of 2025.
This year, following a major relapse into alcoholism, Irene left the Bay to check herself into a recovery facility. When she gets back, will she be feeling better?
